Where Does Your Story Start?

Announcing Actor/Groundlings teacher Tim Bagley & Literary Agent Paul Levine to teach at "The Message of You" Conference

If you're a comic, your story probably starts with all the funny humiliations of your life. Maybe your story starts with your birth - and your first words were,"Hey, how ya'll doing?"

If you're a survivor, your story might begin with making it through the darkest financial times for your business, or surviving with a triumphant win over an illness like cancer.

Tim Bagley
Where you start is important - because there are our overall life stories that encapsulate everything in our life span, and then there are the stories within those, with moments where we learn something so valuable that it must be shared with others. But, when we look at everything, in the clutter of all the day to day, routine things that happen -- we can easily miss those key moments that are the most important - and the most interesting to others. It can be enormously helpful to have a trained ear sift through the broader story to identify those moments that hold the greatest value - and hone them into a compelling message.

I'm excited to announce that Tim Bagley and Paul Levine will be joining me in LA at The Message of You Conference, Oct 25-27 to teach you how to find the stories of your life, how to tell them in a compelling and funny way, and how to turn them into published books.

Tim is currently staring with Lisa Kudrow on Showtime's "Web Therapy." He is also a long time member of the famous "Groundlings" improv theater, and currently teaches there as a master teacher. He will be at the conference's story workshop on Friday helping you find your story and making it funny.

Mr. Levine opened the Paul S. Levine Literary Agency, specializing in the representation of book authors and the sale of motion picture and television rights in and to books. Since starting his literary agency, Mr. Levine has sold over 100 fiction and non-fiction books to at least 30 different publishers, and has had many books developed as movies-for-television and feature films. Mr. Levine will be listening to your messages and help you find which ones would be a marketable message.

Keep checking your email, as even more amazing teachers will be announced soon, and the early bird special is still going on. You could spend yearssitting at your desk, trying to figure out what you want to say in that book you've always been meaning to write -- or -- you could come to the "Message of You" conference -- and discover it in a weekend.

Where will you start telling your story? It's up to you. Sign up now for the early bird special and save while there's still time! More VIP guests to be announced next week.

Mr. Ed The person... said...

My ex wife and I were good friends after the divorce. She had cancer and after her last chemo treatment she told me that after all that chemo she didn't lose one bit of her hair. I was looking at her almost bald head when she told me this. I asked her what she was talking about and she held up a gallon baggy and said , see it's all right here! And I thought I was the comedian. I learned something from her that day. Humor is the best medicine.
